Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation
Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation is a public-private partnership modeled on the successful Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) which is aimed to promote regional cooperation and good governance in the wider Black Sea region. It provides grants to local and national NGOs in the wider Black Sea Region, to governmental entities, community groups, policy institutes and other associations in order to implement projects in the three programmatic fields: civic participation, cross-border initiatives and eastern links.
The program is financed by the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the United States Agency for International Development, the Government of Romania, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia. The countries where the Trust operates are: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia.
Who is eligible: Non-governmental organizations, governmental entities, community groups, policy institutes, other associations legally registered from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia.
Duration of projects: Generally, the maximum duration of projects is 12 months.
Amount granted: The average grant will be between USD 16,000 – 19,000.
Deadlines: There are no application deadlines. Project proposals are accepted on a rolling basis and grant decisions are made monthly.

YOUTH OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AGAINST AIDS
The UNESCO Moscow Office, the Centre “Intercultural Dialogue” and the “National High School Debate League” of the Republic of Moldova are launching the joint project aimed to raise the awareness of youth in the Republic of Moldova on HIV & AIDS prevention, having a special focus on HIV-related stigma and discrimination.

Moldova Civil Society Program Funding Announcement Modified

Bulgaria Fund — Good governance project
The principal location of the project is the North East Planning Region of Bulgaria (NUTS 2). Cross-border exchange is planned with the Constanta and Galati regions in Romania. Overall budget of the project is about USD 30 000. Project duration is 12 months: from October 2008 till September 2009. To support effective citizens’ control on governments the project envisages to involve NGOs and media in educational training and two practical modules of learning (‘Secret client’ and Access to information) about measures ensuring transparency and accountability of governments and then help to establish sustainable partnerships with governments in NE Bulgaria and two Romanian regions.
